EPHRATA — Two Grant County Sheriff’s Office deputies assumed new roles Monday. Sheriff Joe Kriete gave the oath of office to Corrections Division Corporal Liz Ramirez and Public Information Officer Kyle Foreman.

Foreman worked as a volunteer PIO for the sheriff’s office for 11 years, then was hired by GCSO as an emergency management specialist. Foreman has handled the majority of the PIO duties since he was hired full-time in 2021. This year the GCSO added the PIO as a full-time job.

OTHELLO — The Othello Police Department will sponsor an open house from 6 to 8 p.m. June 25 for any interested Othello residents. People will have the chance to tour the office and talk to OPD officers and staff. Crafts for children are planned as well.

The OPD office is located at Othello City Hall, 500 E. Main St.

RITZVILLE — Two Adams County Sheriff’s deputies have taken on new jobs, one temporarily, with the department.

Corporal/Detective Cale Yount has been assigned as a patrol sergeant on a temporary basis, according to an ACSO post. Angel Valverde has been promoted to detective and will be assigned to investigations countywide.

Three booked after threatening victim, stealing his car

MOSES LAKE – Three Moses Lake men were booked into the Grant County Jail Tuesday morning for assaulting a man, threatening to kill him and stealing his car on Monday, according to a statement from Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

EPHRATA – The Ephrata Police Department released a statement Tuesday indicating that the Central Basin Investigative Team, a joint task force made up of law enforcement agencies from around the region, is investigating the death of Richard Lambert, an inmate at the Grant County Jail.
