MOSES LAKE — This week offers several opportunities for fun. Step out and enjoy the summer weather at these events.
June 21
Summer Concert Series
The Wenatchee Big Band will kick off the series of free concerts throughout the summer sponsored by the Moses Lake Creative District. The Wenatchee Big Band features the classics from the Swing era. 8 p.m. in Centennial Amphitheater, McCosh Park at 401 West Fourth Ave., Moses Lake.
Friday Open Mic Night
Open Mic Friday evenings from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. continue as a popular opportunity at the Soap Lake Senior Center, 121 Second Ave. SE, Soap Lake, to drop in and express yourself via music, poetry, dancing, storytelling or some other art form. All ages are welcome. $1 for entry. Unique snacks and food are available for purchase.

Find a furry friend
Columbia Basin Pet Rescue will be at Hales Farm and Feed in Ephrata on Saturday to give folks a chance to meet dogs that are available for adoption. 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. https://bit.ly/4c7HUVM
Live music at ENZO

Moses Lake Farmers Market
Each Saturday from May through October, the Moses Lake Farmers Market offers area shoppers the chance to buy crafts, produce and other household items that are produced locally. Held in McCosh Park at 401 W. Fourth Ave. in Moses Lake from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., visitors can enjoy some time at the park in addition to an opportunity to shop local. The event is free to attend.

BMX Skills Clinic
Garrett Montney, a Team USA BMXer, will host this clinic to help those interested learn the basics of BMX riding. The event costs $20 and will be held at the Moses Lake BMX track at 615 S. Florence Ave. in Moses Lake. https://bit.ly/BMXFUNML

Summer Concert Series
Santa Poco takes the stage for the second free concert sponsored by the Moses Lake Creative District. Seattle-based Santa Poco focuses on a contemporary country sound. 8 p.m. in Centennial Amphitheater, McCosh Park at 401 West Fourth Ave., Moses Lake.

Family Picnic Day at Neppel Landing
The Downtown Moses Lake Association invites the public to join them for a fun community picnic from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. A variety of activities and vendors will be available for people to enjoy including free face painting from Amy’s Artistic Expressions, temporary tattoos from Obsidian Tattoo and several others. Food vendors will be on hand and the Malditos Car Club will have vehicles for attendees to check out. There is no cost to attend due to sponsorships from Group14, iFiber Communications, Renewal by Anderson, Vyve Broadband, Weinstein Beverage and T-Mobile.

Changes in financial procedures recommended for Lind after state audit
LIND — The town of Lind lost a substantial amount of its financial transaction records for 2022-25, a situation the Washington State Auditor’s Office attributed to a computer failure. However, the WSAO also recommended that town officials revise some of its financial transaction processes.
