A Kalispell man ejected from an SUV in a late October wreck near Lakeside succumbed to his injuries over the weekend, authorities say.
The 28-year-old was a passenger in an Audi Q5 that went off the road while rounding a right-hand curve on Lakeside Boulevard about 9:12 p.m., Oct. 29, according to Montana Highway Patrol. The Audi struck several boulders and a home before rolling down an embankment.
The 28-year-old, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle, officials said. Later taken to Logan Health Medical Center, he succumbed to his injuries on Nov. 3.
The 52-year-old male driver, also from Kalispell, survived the wreck uninjured. Authorities are unsure whether he was wearing a seatbelt.
Investigators said that alcohol, drugs and speed are all suspected of playing a role in the crash. Road conditions were described as dry at the time of the wreck.
