The Whitefish golf teams were in action at the Kootenai Invite in Lincoln County last week, playing at Indian Springs in Eureka on Thursday, Sept. 12 and Cabinet View in Libby on Friday, Sept. 13.

The competition shifted as not all players stayed for the 36 holes over the two days, and only two teams, Hamilton and Bigfork, brought their full girls teams.

Three bulldog girls fared well on individual scores.  Stella Jaffe tied for second with a two-day total of 164, and shot Friday’s lowest girls score, an 81. Rhylee Scott came in fifth overall for the two days with a total of 185. Caroline Owens was seventh with 210.

The Bulldog boys team brought the full squad for a two-day total score of 656, good for second place out of 11 teams. They were behind only Corvallis’ 619.

Aiden Rickels led the boys effort with a two-day total of 154, good for fifth place. Otto Klein was close behind in seventh place with 160 strokes. Mason O’Neil, Coldy Minton and Tristan Schoff rounded out the second-place team effort.

The busy season continues this week at the Kalispell Invite with play at Village Greens Sept. 18 and Buffalo Hill Sept. 19.

Saturday, Sept. 21 they travel to Hamilton for the last invite of the season before Western A Divisionals on Sept. 27.
