MOSES LAKE – According to AAA, as of Monday, Grant County has an average price of $4.28 and Adams County has an average of $4.72. Both are higher than the state and national average price.
Gas prices in Washington state have experienced a slight decline over the past week, mirroring national trends, as data from GasBuddy indicates. As of April 21, the average price for a gallon of gasoline in Washington stands at $4.22, down from $4.30 the previous week.
Despite the recent declines, Washington's gas prices remain higher than the national average, which is currently $3.10 per gallon.
The state's average price reflects a range of fluctuations observed over recent months, with notable peaks and troughs. Specifically, prices in Washington have fluctuated from $4.38 at the end of March to as low as $4.01 in mid-March. Despite these recent reductions, the average price still poses a significant burden on consumers compared to the previous year, when prices were at least 54.6 cents lower.
Washington has the third-highest price, behind only California at $4.76 and Hawaii at $4.42. Across the United States, the national average price for gasoline has dropped by 3.4 cents over the past week, now sitting at $3.10 per gallon according to GasBuddy.
This decrease follows a month where prices saw a modest rise, totaling 1.8 cents higher than last month.
