MOSES LAKE — Seventy-seven local music students from 5 to 17 years old performed at the ninth annual Celebrate Music Festival on Saturday, according to an announcement from music teacher Marina Munter. 

The event, sponsored by the Moses Lake-Central Basin Music Teachers Chapter, took place at Immanuel Lutheran Church. The theme was “Parade of the Animals” and the students performed solo and duet pieces about animals, Munter wrote, including one student who played an original composition. Some students performed in costumes and masks depicting the animals referenced in their musical selections. Students also completed theory and craft activities, decorated cookies and displayed projects about their pieces.

“All students were outstanding and had so much fun,” Munter wrote.
