Gas prices drop slightly in Grant, Adams counties, WA and nationally

MOSES LAKE – Gas prices across the nation saw a slight decrease, including in both Grant and Adams counties and Washington, according to AAA.  

In Grant County, there was a six-cent decrease in fuel prices from $4.36 last week to $4.30 as of Monday, according to AAA. Gas prices for the county have been steadily increasing for the past month, with this week marking the first decrease in five weeks. As of a month ago, prices were sitting at an average of $4.28.  

Adams County also saw a slight fuel price relief this week, with prices sitting at an average of $4.29, according to AAA. Last week, prices were two cents higher. As of a month ago, prices were sitting at an average of $4.20 in the county. 

Both Grant and Adams counties remain in the middle of fuel prices for the state, according to AAA. San Juan County is the most expensive in the state at $5.27, a 20-cent decrease from last week. Asotin County remained the cheapest at $3.73, a three-cent increase from last week.  

Washington state saw a three-cent decrease in fuel prices last week, according to AAA. Prices are sitting at an average of $4.37, which is ten cents more expensive than a month ago. However, it is around 33 cents cheaper than the average a year ago, when prices were sitting at around $3.45.  

Washington remains one of the most expensive states to purchase gas with only California at $4.70 and Hawaii at $4.46 having higher prices in the nation.  

Nationally, gas prices have dropped to around $3.12, which is around two cents cheaper than last week's average of $3.14. The current average is around three cents cheaper than a month ago, which was sitting at $3.15. Gas prices are significantly cheaper now than a year ago, when gas was sitting at around $3.45 or $0.33 more.
