The Whitefish Theatre Company presents its final Black Curtain Reading of the 2024-2025 season, “All the Days,” by Sharyn Rothstein this weekend.
Joy James is at the helm of this production, making her WTC directorial debut.
“Coming from many years of experience as a stage actor, it has been an interesting and exciting adjustment to now sit in the director's chair,” James said. “I am thrilled to be making my debut with ‘All the Days’ to bring this funny, heartfelt script to life.”
James grew up in a musical family and graduated from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City in 2003.
She took a long hiatus from the theatre world until she moved to Whitefish in 2016, when her daughter auditioned for The Neverending Story with WTC and James realized how much she missed it.
“I hadn’t been in a show since college,” James said. “I don’t know how I survived as long as I had without it. Once I jumped back in, I haven’t been able to stop, and I have no plan to.”
James has starred in WTC’s Best Christmas Pageant, Into the Woods, Evelyn in Purgatoy, Tin Woman, A Christmas Carol, Church and State, Death By Design, Almost Maine.
Most recently, she was the Dragon, 3 pigs, and a dancer in Shrek the Musical.
Now, James will have her first opportunity as director of “All the Days,” starring Tery Solomon as Ruth, Laura Abernethy as Miranda, Mona Charles, Henry Elsen as Delmore, Andrew Willis as Jared, Matt Strool as Stewbert, and Gil Jordan as Baptiste.
“All the Days” is a Black Curtain production. There will be minimal staging, set and props and actors will be reading from a script.
Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students for all shows. Tickets can be purchased online at www.whitefishtheatreco.org., at the Box Office at 1 Central Ave. in Whitefish or by calling 862-5371.
This production is generously sponsored by John and Marianne Evenhuis, Bet and Doug Wise, Linda and David Hunt.
