KELLOGG – For the third year running, the city of Kellogg is conjuring up its annual Kelloween festival this Saturday, celebrating all things spooky and spotlighting the fun of the Halloween season. 

Kellogg Community Planner Monica Miller is thrilled for year three—not just because of the stacked lineup of events, but because she and her team have fine-tuned the festival based on two years of community feedback. 

The only potential hiccup? The weather. 

“It’s going to be pretty rad,” Miller said. “We’re sticking pretty close to the same itinerary we used last year. We’re going to try to have everything outdoors, but it does look like it’s going to be rainy.” 

Kelloween 2025 kicks off at 11 a.m. with the annual Witch Walk, followed by a full slate of family-friendly activities to sink your teeth into: live music, trick-or-treating through the uptown business district, pie-eating, costume and scream contests, sugar skull decorating, and the after-dark 5K run. 

Live music is scheduled at the old McConnell Hotel lot, featuring Cowboy Andy and the Salamanders, an all-ages rock band from Missoula. If the skies don’t cooperate, the tunes will move indoors to the Kellogg Elks building. 

Held on the final Saturday of October, Kelloween gives uptown businesses a chance to see a seasonal boost in foot traffic and invites visitors to explore what’s new along McKinley Avenue and Main Street. 

“The trick-or-treating in the uptown businesses is fun. Businesses will typically put a sign in their windows that say ‘Hey come get candy here,’” Miller said. “It’s just a good opportunity for the businesses—even the ones that may not be open on Saturday—to allow people to come inside and see what they offer.” 

Silver Valley CARES is hosting a free costume shop inside Valley Violets, where folks can browse new or gently used costumes of all sizes before diving into the Kelloween festivities and next week’s Halloween celebrations. 

Kelloween is one of Kellogg’s signature community events, encouraging local businesses and groups to get involved. This year, every child will receive a goodie bag, and the Inland Lounge is giving away free pumpkins while supplies last. 

Keep an eye out for the city’s creatively decorated scarecrows. If one catches your eye, scan the QR code to vote and help crown the 2026 Kelloween Scarecrow champions. 

“It’s going to be a great time,” Miller said. “We hope the weather holds out, but even if it doesn’t, we’re excited to give kids and families a fun Halloween experience.”
