KENNEWICK — Greater Health Now, a nonprofit organization committed to enhancing population health, has officially launched its monthly podcast, “Care & Consequence: Perspectives on a Social Care Network,” aimed at dissecting the complexities surrounding health care.

The inaugural episode, “Introducing Care and Consequence,” is now available on podcast platforms such as Spotify and Apple Podcasts. Co-hosted by GHN’s Chief Executive Officer Sharon Brown and Chief Operating Officer Rebecca Betts, the podcast seeks to address critical questions about the effectiveness of current healthcare systems, according to a GHN press release.

“We created this podcast because I've seen these critical health issues from every angle, including during my ten years as a state lawmaker,” Brown stated. “We're here to talk about what matters. People need help, and we need to be honest and examine: are these programs helping people? Are they doing so effectively and efficiently? The stories we’re telling are ones I wish I heard more often, and I hope others will feel seen, challenged, or inspired by them.”

The podcast aims to facilitate honest discussions about GHN’s programs while bringing expert guests who offer insights on the successes and shortcomings of health care delivery. Each episode invites listeners to critically assess not just the successes but also the unintended consequences that arise from current care systems.

“My passion has always been connecting people to care — in a holistic way that gets to the root causes of their needs,” Betts said. “Every episode of this podcast is a chance to have a frank conversation about where we’ve succeeded and where we need to innovate further to ensure our social care network is equitable and effective. We want to bring the listeners into the room for these vital discussions.”

The first three episodes, including two focusing on the emerging field of Mobile Integrated Health, are available for listeners. New episodes will be released monthly, with the goal of enhancing community discourse around health disparities and care delivery efficiency.
