Last Friday at noon the students, teachers and staff of Superior Public Schools were invited to sign a banner that read "We Support Safe Schools." The American flag was lowered to half-staff for a reflective and respectful moment of silence following the school shooting in Minneapolis.

The students are running a safety awareness campaign with the help of the school administration with each week having a safety highlight such as general school safety, mental health safety, internet safety and substance abuse safety.

“This is not meant to be political in any way and really is to emphasize to everyone that we, Superior Public Schools, care about students (and all the adults too),” wrote Angie Gray, principal for grades 7 through 12.  “We want this to be a positive event that supports the shooting victims and schools that have been affected,” her email said.
