A man arrested for pulling a gun during a fistfight in Woodland Park last year later received a suspended jail sentence.

Sean Erik Gibb, 32, of Kalispell initially pleaded not guilty to a felony count of assault with a weapon at his May 15, 2025 arraignment in Flathead County District Court. By July, though, he was entering a guilty plea to an amended count of misdemeanor assault.

Judge Amy Eddy, who presided over the case, handed down the suspended six-month jail sentence on July 1. She gave Gibb credit for 4 days of time served and ordered him to pay a combined $585 in court fines and fees.

Kalispell Police officers arrested Gibb at his Fourth Avenue North West home after one of the victims reported the May 1, 2025, fight. The disagreement allegedly grew out of a bout of road rage on U.S. 2. Gibb followed the victim to the skatepark, hopped out of his car with a gun sticking out of his waistband and began yelling, court documents said.

During the ensuing fight, one of the victim's friends landed a blow on Gibb and he allegedly drew his gun. A group of bystanders jumped on him to prevent him from firing the weapon, court documents alleged. Gibb eventually left the park.

Using license plate information gathered by an onlooker, officers tracked Gibb back to his house. A subsequent search of the home turned up a green and black Glock handgun and a homemade suppressor, according to court documents.
