Orme, Minton have wins at Iceberg Invite

The Whitefish boys track and field team took fourth out of 10 teams and the girls sixth at the Iceberg Invite in Columbia Falls on Saturday.
Colby Minton continues to dominate in the 400-meter race, winning in 51.72 seconds, a full second and a half faster than the nearest competitor. Minton also was third in the 200 at 23.36.
Colt Moss was third in the long jump, marking 19-10.5. Braylon Dunn was third in discus and fourth in shot put.
The boys were third in the 4x100 and fifth in the 4x400. The girls didn’t run relays this week.
Avery Orme had impressive performances across the board, taking first in the 100 in 12.93 and first in the triple jump with 36-4. She added a fourth-place finish in the 200 and finished seventh in the 400.
Sol Holmquist was second in the javelin, throwing 104, feet 11 inches, and Nola Brown was second in high jump with 4-10.
