The Whitefish softball team had a solid start and positive energy during its game against Ronan at Smith Fields Monday evening.
The Bulldogs lost 24-7 to the Maidens as the skies threatened rain. Baylee Hyland had strong pitches and Elyse Sharpnack stepped up to the plate with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Charlei Walz was a boost to the Dogs with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
Last week on Tuesday, Whitefish’s matchup against Libby also ended in defeat. The Loggers came out 13-2, a slight improvement from a scoreless 15-0 game two weeks ago. Whitefish had four different players step up and record at least one hit.
Last Friday’s away match versus Browning was postponed; the Dogs will play them May 5. An away game against Columbia Falls is scheduled for May 7.
