Rock and Roll Dreams presents: 'Meet Loaf — The Ultimate Tribute'

"Meet Loaf - The Ultimate Tribute" is coming to the Coeur d’Alene Casino on Sept. 3 and promises not to leave a dry eye in the house. This tribute show by the husband-and-wife act Rock and Roll Dreams is designed to revive the operatic vocals, epic musicality and theatrical energy of a "Bat Out of Hell"-era Meat Loaf concert.
Benny and Ariel Eva Resonance play Meat Loaf and his female co-star. Hailing from South Florida, they are excited to return to the Pacific Northwest region for the first time since they were married in Snohomish County, Wash., in 2022. They are the co-owners and stars of Rock and Roll Dreams, an award-winning tribute band specializing in Meat Loaf and Fleetwood Mac portrayals.
“I have a knack to mimic, so I do Lindsey Buckingham in Fleetwood. I’m chameleon-esque that way,” Benny said. “But Meat Loaf seemed a lot more natural than any of the other vocalists I try to emulate. He seems to be the perfect natural fit.”
Benny started in the metal cover scene in South Florida, then, encouraged by a friend, started a Meat Loaf tribute band in 2017. Ariel was one of the band’s first recruits. She portrays a range of female vocalists who accompanied Meat Loaf over the years, including Celine Dion, Cher, Karla DeVito and Bonnie Tyler.
“I am a sucker for a good ballad, and a duet ballad,” Ariel said. “So I love singing ‘It’s All Coming Back to Me Now.’”
Ariel and Benny promise the Coeur d’Alene Casino audience a high-energy, nostalgic show with crowd involvement, featuring everyone’s favorite Jim Steinman and Meat Loaf hits. Just like the original Meat Loaf and Karla DeVito tour, the emotional engine of their show is powered by the tension between the male and female co-stars.
“There’s this love-hate fervor that they played into,” Benny said, “and Ariel and I have been married so long, so the tension that people feel and the emotion is real. And people tend to get carried away with us.”
Ariel and Benny believe this tension, this realness, is the reason why Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman’s music is timeless. Fans from the '70s return to Meat Loaf’s music again and again for the same reasons that Gen Z fans rock out to "Bat Out of Hell."
“It’s got that real-life experience that people relate to,” Ariel said, “and I think that just carries through in every generation.”
Rock and Roll Dreams brings the soaring energy of Meat Loaf back to life for all ages at the "Meet Loaf - The Ultimate Tribute" show 7 p.m. on Sept. 3. Tickets are on sale now from $28 online on the Coeur d’Alene Casino concerts and events page at cdacasino.com/event.
