A former Flathead Valley man earned a three-year sentence to the state Department of Corrections after violating his probation while living in California last year.
Flathead County District Judge Dan Wilson on Nov. 20 revoked Charles Delaney Warren's suspended sentence and handed down a three-year sentence. Wilson also gave the 31-year-old credit for 32 days of time served and 17 months of street time.
Warren received the suspended sentence in 2024 after pleading guilty to a felony count of criminal endangerment and a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
While Warren began serving out his sentence in Kalispell, he moved to California during the summer of 2024, according to documents filed in district court. In 2025, he was convicted of possessing a stolen firearm in the Superior Court of California and sentenced to three months and seven days of jail time.
Just months later he earned a forgery conviction in the same court, according to a violation report written by his probation and parole officer.
Warren picked up his Flathead County case after chasing a gray SUV through Columbia Falls in September 2023, according to court documents. After forcing the SUV to a stop, Warren allegedly hopped out of his pickup armed with a black 10 mm pistol.
Responding Columbia Falls Police officers believed that Warren tossed the gun back into his pickup as they arrived.
