Lake County wrestlers wrap up regular season with wins

It is Western A divisional week and some of the Lake County wrestling teams took on closing mixers and meets before divisionals start up.
Polson wins big individual matches at Corvallis and Columbia Falls
On Feb. 5, Polson took on Beaverhead County in the Corvallis Mixer to outstanding results.
Both the boys and girls teams secured huge team victories over the Beavers. The girls tallied 21-15 in their head-to-head matchups. That includes wins from Kellyn Nelson, who scored 19 of the team's 29 points. Kaiah Dumont, Cheyenne Blake and Dailynn O’Roake also won but scored no points.
The boys also won, with Polson wrestlers securing six of nine total match victories. Those winners were Wyatt Moldenhauer, Blane Jaeger, Logan Clairmont, Garrett O’Neil, Loui Mohr and Gabriel Houston.
On Feb. 7, Polson took on the Columbia Falls mixer, where the girls were dominant, with only two losses against all Columbia Falls wrestlers.
The boys did not fare as well, but still saw six individual winners against Columbia Falls.
Arlee, Mission/Charlo shine at Buzz Lucey Meet
It was a podium party for Arlee and Mission/Charlo’s wrestling teams as they both took on the Buzz Lucey Meet on Feb. 7
First, Arlee saw three of the five wrestlers sent to the podium in this tournament.
For the girls, Anola Naugle took home gold for the 130 weight class while her teammate, Ella Knoll, finished in second in the 145 weight class.
For the boys, Dominick Haynes nabbed a third-place win at the 138 weight class.
Mission/Charlo sent 14 wrestlers to Eureka for this meet and only two did not place during the tournament.
On the girls side, both wrestlers who went earned first place wins. Anna Cronk topped the 145 weight class and Meadow Ragen earned gold for the 155 weight class.
On the boys side, Colt Hammond at 103 and Donovan Daniels at 190 each won their weight classes.
Remington Wilson, Mark Ioli and Krugger Piercei all earned second place in their respective weight classes.
Dakota Zeiler, Hank Zeiler, Joseph Cronk and Marcus Fyant all earned third place in the mixer. Levi Dwelle was the final placer and he finished fourth.
With those mixers and meets wrapped up, the divisional tournaments are set for Feb. 13 and Feb. 14. The Western A Boys Divisional tournament will take place in Beaverhead County High School. The Western A Girls Divisional tournament will take place in Browning High School. The Western B/C Boys and Girls Divisional tournament is happening at the Butte Civic Center.
