Candidates file for Mineral County positions

Around 150 candidates for district, legislative and statewide offices submitted their official paperwork with the Montana Secretary of State’s Office on Feb. 17, the first day candidates could file for office. Candidates have until March 4 to file their paperwork.

For Mineral County offices, as of Friday, Feb. 20, the following individuals have filed:

West End County Commissioner

Justic of the Peace

Even in the dead of winter, when cabin fever starts creeping in and spring feels like a distant rumor, the ladies of the DeBorgia Historic Schoolhouse Foundation know exactly how to lift their spirits.

About two dozen locals attended the first line dancing class at the Mineral County Shooting Sports Association building Saturday evening. Most, if not everyone, were new to this technique and after loosening up, enjoyed themselves. Held the 3rd Saturday every month at 6 p.m., it’s $5.00 per person for 2 hours of instruction and then time to practice what they learned.
