OTHELLO — A 17-year-old Kennewick boy was airlifted to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland early Saturday morning after he was injured in a rollover crash about seven miles southeast of Othello.

The boy, whose name was not released, was driving south on State Route 17 at about 1 a.m. Saturday when he lost control of the car, according to a press release from the Washington State Patrol. He drove onto the southbound shoulder, then overcorrected.

He drove across the northbound lane; the vehicle rolled and ended up on its wheels on the northbound shoulder, the WSP memo said. The driver wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.
