GEORGE — An Othello man was killed Monday when the car he was driving ran off the road about 11 miles south of George. A passenger in the car was injured.
David Trinidad, 22, died at the scene of the crash, said Kyle Foreman, public information officer for the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, in a release issued Wednesday. The crash occurred at about 10:40 p.m., Foreman said.
Melany Campos, 22, Othello, was injured and airlifted to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, Foreman said.
Trinidad was driving east in the 11900 block of Frenchman Hills Road Southwest when he lost control of his 2015 Mustang, Foreman said. He overcorrected, then ran off the road and came to rest near an irrigation pond. High speed was a contributing factor, Foreman said.
