Charlo and Two Eagle River were back with some exciting scores and some positive results. From this past week, here’s a check on some of the District 14C hoops.

Charlo Girls 61, Alberton Girls 17

Charlo started the weekend with a home doubleheader against Alberton on Jan. 17 and the girls looked tough to beat.

The Lady Vikings never allowed more than five points in a quarter while scoring double-digits in three of four quarters. It was a well-rounded effort as well, with three Charlo girls scoring double digits.

Charlo locked up a 61-17 win with Madison Harris leading the team with 19 points. Maizey McDonald scored 16 and GG Hawk notched another 10 to the impressive win.

Charlo Boys 67, Alberton Boys 45

The Charlo boys also took home a win over Alberton on Saturday, making it a home sweep for the Vikings.

It was another dominant game for Charlo with double-digit scoring in all four quarters. The Vikings let up 23 points in the fourth quarter to the Panthers but it was inconsequential as the Charlo lead was too much to return from.

Karson Cox logged 25 points for the Vikings, with his teammate Tasker Brown following up with 12 points. Cox is now over 800 career points, making this a huge win for him and the team.

Two Eagle River Girls 50, Noxon Girls 18

Two Eagle River started their week at home on Jan. 15 with a doubleheader against Noxon. Even with a sound performance from Keke Tenas, it was the defense that kept this team in the driver’s seat.

It allowed over five points in a quarter only once en route to the win. The Lady Red Devils struggled to put up any buckets, ending the game with just three points in the fourth quarter.

The Lady Eagles took the 50-18 victory with Tenas leading in points with 13. Jodessa Dickson dropped 10 points as well to help secure the win.

Two Eagle River Boys 90, Noxon Boys 51

The Eagles were looking for the home sweep last Thursday, and they got it with a high-scoring victory over the Red Devils.

The team scored over 20 points in the first three quarters of the game, while preventing any Red Devil momentum from picking up. A slower fourth quarter was still plenty to keep the lead as Two Eagle River notched a 90-51 win.

It was two familiar names on top of the scoring charts as Jayvian Burke and Thomas Addison tied for the most points with 30 each. Burke also eclipsed 500 points in his varsity career.

St. Regis Girls 41, Two Eagle River Girls 38

It was time for a roadtrip with the Lady Eagles in a close one against the St. Regis Tigers on Jan. 16.

Two Eagle River struggled early, surrendering 12 points while only putting up two in the first quarter. Despite a tough first half, the Lady Eagles rebounded with a 23-point fourth quarter. It was an impressive comeback, but it fell just short of victory.

The Tigers won 41-38 with Tenas again leading the way with 18 points, seven rebounds and six steals.

St. Regis Boys 60, Two Eagle River Boys 55

To close out the week last Friday, Two Eagle River played another close game against St. Regis.

It looked like the Eagles could pull ahead early but a strong second quarter from the Tigers put the halftime score at 30-28. Two Eagle River then put out a game-high 17 points in the third, going up 45-44 with one quarter left.

However, it was St. Regis who quelled the Eagles, outsourcing them in the final quarter of play to hand them the 60-55 defeat.

Talon Addison led the way with 15 points while Burke and Ryiley Gates each earned 14 points in the close loss.
