The Whitefish swim team’s excellence has continued into the new year. The Whitefish High School girls team won an invitational Saturday in Kalispell, gathering 263 points to nab first ahead of second-place Columbia Falls (149), and seven other Class A and AA schools from the Flathead Valley and Missoula. The boys had a solid second place finish, with 171 points behind Polson (215).

Gavin Sibson - 24.14, Jessup Hutcheson - 24.99, Nathan Sibson - 23.94, and Will Stensten - 23.72, earned first place and a new school record in the boys 200-yard freestyle relay (1:36.79).

The boys team had a disqualification in the 200-yard medley relay, but still won second-place overall.

The girls 400 freestyle relay team and 200 medley relay team placed first.

Liesel Klein finished in first-place in the 100 butterfly and second place in the 50 freestyle.

Several Bulldogs swam personal bests, including Emma Brown for second place in the 100 butterfly and Ginger Bergland for second in the 100 breaststroke.
