LIND — A man sought in connection with a stabbing in Lind Sunday was arrested Tuesday in Spokane County, according to an Adams County Sheriff’s Office media release.
Gage Remington, 23, Lind, was arrested with the help of regional law enforcement agencies and private citizens, Adams County Sheriff Dale Wagner said in the release.
“We are especially grateful to the U.S. Marshals Service, our partnering law enforcement agencies and members of the public who provided valuable tips and information,” Wagner wrote.
Remington was being sought in connection with an assault that left the victim with severe injuries.
“The victim of the assault was treated at the scene by an off-duty firefighter, a good Samaritan and later airlifted to a medical center for emergency treatment,” Wagner said.
Remington’s capture demonstrates that cooperation between law enforcement agencies, as well as public involvement, is crucial, he said.
“This case is a reminder that public safety is a shared responsibility,” Wagner said. “When law enforcement agencies work together and the community is willing to report suspicious activity and provide timely information, we are able to resolve cases more quickly and safely. Every tip matters, and the partnership between our citizens and law enforcement continues to be one of the most effective tools we have.”
