New Jitterz Sit & Sip Cafe opens in Rathdrum

There’s more than just drive-through coffee stands brewing for Jitterz Espresso.
Jitterz, established in 2006 by owners Laura and Jason Quast and now with 11 coffee stands around Kootenai County, can now say it has its first sit-down cafe in the region.
On Tuesday, the Quast family joined Rathdrum Area Chamber of Commerce officials to celebrate the opening of its Jitterz Sit & Sip Cafe. The cafe, located at 14683 W. Highway 53, opens in conjunction with Jitterz’s 20th anniversary.
According to a press release, the new cafe's space is inspired by Laura’s love of travel and the beauty and culture she experienced around the world.
“Our Cafe offers an elevated, Italian-inspired experience with organic coffee and a bakery where everything is created in-house,” the release states. “Our baked goods are made using flour imported from Italy, and our menu includes fresh sandwiches, salads, Italian pastries, beer, wine and more.”
The Quasts and Jitterz are excited to bring this new experience to Rathdrum. A second Jitterz Sit & Sip is planned to open in Coeur d’Alene in the fall.
“After 20 years of growth, community support, and serving the Inland Northwest, opening this Cafe is a dream come true, and we are so grateful to celebrate this milestone with the community that has helped make it possible,” the release states.

The move follows OSF founder Neal Carter’s return to ownership of the company in June. Based in Summerland, British Columbia, Okanagan Specialty Fruits operates a packaging plant in Moses Lake and an orchard in the Frenchman Hills near Othello. “Paul brings a valuable combination of agricultural experience, strategic thinking and more than a decade helping organizations improve complex investment and resource-allocation decisions,” Neal Carter wrote in the announcement. “I’m very pleased to have him bring that experience to OSF as we build the next phase of the company.”
