Youth basketball camp set to be held in Quincy

QUINCY — A youth basketball camp being held in collaboration between Royal Hoops Basketball and Quincy Youth Basketball is set to be held July 11 at Quincy High School. The camp will be open to boys entering 3-5 grade and girls 6-8 grade.
The camp is designed to help young athletes develop fundamental basketball skills, build confidence, improve teamwork and have fun in a positive learning environment, according to a statement from Quincy Youth Basketball. Players will participate in skill development drills, games and instruction from experienced coaches.
The boys camp begins at 9 a.m. and will last until 10:30 a.m. and the girls will begin at 11 a.m. and last until 12:30 p.m. The cost is $35 per player and those attending will need to bring their own basketball and wear gym shoes.

Bossenbrook scores as Eagles battle Utah Tech to 1-1 draw
CHENEY — Eastern Washington battled Utah Tech to a 1-1 draw at home, with Maya Bossenbrook scoring the Eagles' goal and Payton Hyde delivering a 12-save performance in net, according to EWU Athletics. Reese Kincaid and Mira Scarsella each recorded an assist on Bossenbrook's second-half goal. Noelle Raczykowski led Eastern's attack with four shots, placing three on goal, while Mia Miconi and Scarsella added three shots apiece. The Eagles finished with 16 shots and nine on goal.
Eagles place eighth at CDA National
COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho — Eastern Washington men's golf stayed local this week, heading to Idaho to host the CDA National Invite at CDA National Reserve. EWU placed 8th in the tournament, shooting 877. Emilio Gil Leyva Llamas paired together three great rounds according to EWU athletics, with a first day 74 (+2), second day 71 (-1), and a third day 74 (+2). Gil Leyva finished his tournament tied for 17th.
