The Friends of Post Falls Community Forest will be holding their final day of 5th Canyon Trail improvements 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.

“It's a great asset to the community,” said Daniel Lambert, a Post Falls City natural areas and trails technician.

Completion of the trail’s switchbacks and finishing the rock steps are on the agenda.

Lambert said the Post Falls Community Forest provides opportunities for recreation, from rock climbing to swimming in the river.

“It allows folks to be able to disconnect from the world and just be able to enjoy the things that nature has to offer,” he said.

Volunteers will meet at the Q'emlin Trailhead at 9 a.m. and hike to the head of Fifth Canyon. The weather is forecast to be sunny and warm.

Volunteers can simply show up or RSVP by emailing [email protected].
