KELLOGG — The Kellogg School District recently swore in its newest Zone 1 trustee, Bradi Zeigler.

Zeigler succeeds Adrianne Vest, who resigned in July after just four months because she relocated outside the zone's boundaries. 

Following the resignation, the Kellogg School Board began accepting resumes to fill the position and later held a public interview with two candidates: Zeigler and Ethan Wendt. 

Aug. 3, the board announced it had selected and approved Zeigler to fill the seat. She was sworn in at the Sept. 8 Kellogg School Board meeting. 

“We’re excited to welcome Bradi to the board,” KSD Board Chair Alexa Griffin said. “Her experience in our district and in Post Falls will bring a fresh perspective and add to the strength of our current board. We’re looking forward to continuing to work together to move Kellogg School District forward.” 

Zeigler’s appointment makes her the fifth person to represent Zone 1, which includes the southern portion of Kellogg, Wardner and everything east to Big Creek, since 2021. 

With more than 20 years in public education, Zeigler is familiar with many of the challenges facing public schools today. Her experience was highlighted during the interview process and in a district news release. 

“Ms. Zeigler brings organizational skill, passion, and a grounded perspective to the board. During her interview, Zeigler identified funding structures, student attendance, teacher retention, and public communication as the district's most pressing focus areas,” the release read. “Guided by common sense and integrity, she emphasized the importance of fostering a safe environment for all students and staff, and taking a collaborative, process-minded approach to district governance.” 

Zeigler previously worked for the district as a paraeducator and most recently served as head secretary at Post Falls High School. 

“I am excited to be a part of the school board, and I look forward to tackling all of the challenges that come along with the position,” she said. 

In Idaho, school board trustees are elected and, in some cases, appointed officials responsible for setting district policy, approving budgets, hiring and evaluating the superintendent, and overseeing the district on behalf of residents in their trustee zone. Trustees serve on the district’s governing board and do not manage day-to-day operations, which district administration handles.
