KELLOGG — The Silver Valley Cat Wranglers are extending their heartfelt thanks to the community after their annual fundraiser at the Dirty Dog Saloon raised $4,200 to support local feline welfare efforts. 

The volunteer-run nonprofit said the success of the event was made possible by the generosity of local businesses, community members and bidders who came together in support of the organization's mission. 

“The fundraiser would not have happened if it weren’t for the generosity of Mike, Linda and Kyrsten Kennaugh,” Juli Zook said previously of the group's partnership with the owners of the Dirty Dog Saloon. 

For one evening, the popular Kellogg establishment once again transformed into the “Dirty Kitty Saloon,” hosting a silent auction and community gathering dedicated to helping cats throughout the Silver Valley. 

According to Rene Gilbert, community support remains the foundation of the organization's work. 

“Without so many generous businesses and individuals opening their hearts and wallets, it would be impossible for us to continue taking care of our most vulnerable and innocent animals,” Gilbert previously said. 

The money raised will help the Cat Wranglers continue providing spay and neuter assistance, veterinary care, transportation for medical appointments and support for abandoned, stray and feral cats throughout the Silver Valley. 

The group has long emphasized that controlling the cat population through spaying and neutering is the most effective way to reduce suffering and prevent future overpopulation challenges. Gilbert has noted in past interviews that the organization works year-round to stay ahead of kitten season and provide resources to pet owners who may need assistance. 

Zook previously credited the community for continually stepping up when help is needed. 

“We are so blessed to live in such a giving and supportive community,” Gilbert said after a previous fundraiser. 

The Cat Wranglers also expressed appreciation for the volunteers who dedicate countless hours to trapping, fostering, transporting and caring for cats in need. 

“This event was a tremendous success, thanks in large part to our generous hosts,” Zook said. “Without people like this, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do. They are invaluable to our community.”
