Have not seen the proposed survey about Rathdrum Mountain, however, This is a no brainer. This area is filled with recreational opportunities. To develop the mountain would create security problems and invite unwanted from outside in to our little area. Already we are having some problems with homeless on our streets. Fine, cut the timber every few years to reduce fire hazards but taxes and service fees are already high enough with adding on more to maintain what does not need to be maintained. It would disrupt the wildlife habitat and create a dumping ground for campers who do not look at Rathdrum Mountain like we do. The vote is NO NO NO to this project.

Dead coyotes left on UI sorority porches

Three dead coyotes were found placed on the front porches of University of Idaho sororities early Friday morning, echoing an identical incident that took place Jan. 20. Like the previous incident, the recent animal dumps took place in either late night or early morning, as they were found on Pi Kappa Phi, Pi Beta Phi and Alpha Phi properties between 1:22 a.m. and 4:22 a.m. Moscow Police Chief James Fry said there is a year-round hunting season on coyotes and all of the animals had been shot. Flathead County Sheriff

A man apparently unclear on the concept of "normal business hours," dumped a wrecked vehicle by the side of the entrance to the landfill Saturday afternooon when he was informed that the facility was closed for the day. Flathead County Sheriff's Office made contact with the suspect, who agreed to pick up the vehicle and return with it at a more appropriate time.

I just recently completed my first trip to the Napa Valley since we moved to North Idaho to open the shop nearly eight years ago. It won't be that long before I go back. Northern California wine country remains one of the truly beautiful places, and "the valley" seemed vibrant and thriving.
