Frank “David” Milner, 73, of Coeur d' Alene, Idaho passed away October 8th, 2013. Dave was born June 5th, 1940 in Quincy, Massachusetts to Frank & Lillian Cleary Milner. Dave lived for many years in various towns in Arizona and was quite an entrepreneur. While there he owned 2 towing, 2 restaurants, a jewelry store, a radiator shop, and a barber shop. In Coeur d' Alene, he owned Papa Bear's Towing for 2 years. Dave then moved back to Arizona for health reasons, and ran "Dave’s" Barber Shop in Scottsdale. In 2002, Dave moved back to Coeur d' Alene & opened Papa's Barber Shop in Hayden. Dave was a former member of the Elks Club, and an active member of Lake City Community Church. He loved woodworking, bowling, boating & riding his Gold Wing motorcycle. Dave is survived by his 5 children, Dawn Pitts (William) of Coeur d' Alene, Sean Milner, Virginia, Tracee Sherwood (Joseph) of Virginia, Kelly Milner (Paula) of Arizona, and Aloha Milner of Arizona. He was pre - deceased by his youngest son Casey Milner. He is also survived by his 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Bernie Milner of New Jersey, John Babcock of Nevada, Patrick Babcock of Nevada, and many nieces and nephews and pre - deceased by his brother, Paul Babcock. Strikers name Tajan director of coaching

SANDPOINT — The Sandpoint Soccer Association (SSA) has named Adam Tajan as the new Sandpoint Strikers director of coaching. Tajan accepted the position last week, and has already begun working in this new role. He will be overseeing coaches in Sandpoint Strikers—the club soccer branch of the SSA.

Big game seasons are open and from all appearances hunters are out in high numbers. Last weekend I worked the upper Coeur d’Alene drainage and despite the constant rain there were lots of hunters and hunting camps. Hunters are hoping to put some healthy and nutritious meat into the freezer. Those who are successful at harvesting a big game animal are required by law to remove and care for all of the edible meat. This includes the meat from hind quarters as far down as the hock, meat of the front quarters as far down as the knee, and meat along the backbone. There is also good meat in the neck region, covering the ribs and between the ribs.

To begin with I would like to thank all of you who supported us by signing our letter of protest about moving the Green Owl dump site to the 1200 block of Peninsula Road. I don’t believe anyone would like to have a dump established across the street from them. So we thank you with all out heart for supporting us.

On the move

It is hard to believe it, but the dinner party will be open 12 years this year! To think of how Coeur d’Alene has changed and how the wine industry has grown in North Idaho in that time is truly remarkable. For Mary and I, we have always felt embraced by the community and we feel incredibly grateful for the support. We will forever be pleased we chose this community to open our small shop.
