A caller on Treeline Road reportedly found a blacklight after arriving at an apartment that was expected to be empty. Using the blacklight, the callers could see spots on the wall and on the carpet that they believed to be blood. They requested that officers with Kalispell Police Department walk through the apartment to make sure it was safe.

The Columbia Falls fire department had a 298 incidents last year, a significant increase over previous years. In 2014 the department, which includes both rural and city calls, went to 239 incidents, in 2013, 267 and in 2012, 250, said Columbia Falls Fire Chief Rick Hagen.
