A forensic interviewer from Missoula notified Flathead County Sheriff's deputies that a 6-year-old Rogers Lake Road-area girl may have been sexually assaulted by her 13-year-old brother. The case is under investigation.

Melby's Home Interiors a total loss after fire
Melby’s Home Interiors on U.S. Highway 2 in Columbia Falls was engulfed by a fire Sunday morning. The call came out about 5:30 a.m. When firefighters arrived, the fire was already into the attic of the structure and it spread throughout the building, said assistant Fire Chief Jesse Best.
CDC: Don't snuggle chickens

Warren N. "Buck" Holman, age 83, passed away Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007 at Kalispell Regional Medical Center in Kalispell, Mont. from natural causes. He was born on May 16, 1924 in Independence, Iowa to Floyd and Verba (White) Holman.
Linda Parker, 73, of Libby
Linda M. Parker, 73, died May 22 at her home in Libby. Linda was born at Modesto, Calif. on March 29, 1941, to Custer and Edith Logan and was raised and educated there. She later attended college there as well, receiving a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She married Lonnie Parker in 1955, and the two lived all around the world during his military career.

James Conklin
James Conklin, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away February 23, 2024, at age 81 at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle. Born and raised in Omak, Washington, he served in the Air Force, reenlisted in the Navy and was assigned to an Army unit in Vietnam. During his service, he married his first wife Marie and had a daughter, Candace.
