Don Atwood, a resident on the Spokane River since 1972 was born Sept. 24, 1934, to Wilbur and Arlene (Wilcox) Atwood in Moscow. He passed away July 8, 2013, in his Post Falls waterfront home. Don moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1936 and lived his life in the area attending local schools, except for his military years. From January 1955 until January 1958 he served with the U.S. Army as PFC and SP3, with two years in Bremerhaven, Germany.
