Seldom does the Coeur d'Alene Press run away from an issue. You have no problem printing letters that assail your stories, your editorials and some of your biases. Despite this The Press goes on and does a great job at what you do.

SERIES: Needs right sources
I just read part one of Kevin Richert’s series on the push to get more Idahoans “college” educated. It will be interesting where he goes with this and how many school counselors he spoke with to develop this story. I tried to find his email address, but could not, and it does not appear that there is a way to comment on the story on The Press or Idaho EdNews websites. I would love to spend time with him or one of your reporters talking about what this push has really meant to the families of high school students.
CORE: Say no to sample testing
Nationalized education, Common Core Standards were presented to the states as the “future of education” … one-size-fits-all. Schools, at last, announce they can turn out a college or career ready product for the marketplace. Not exactly as presented, say 7 out of 10 teachers in a recent national survey.
