Nonprofit leader steps into library foundation role
A seasoned nonprofit leader has been tapped as the new executive director of the ImagineIF Library Foundation. Adam Tunnell has worked with local organizations since 2009 and is also a former board member and treasurer of the library foundation.

Evelyn Marie Albano, age 90, peacefully passed away in her sleep, at Hearthstone Village in Kootenai, Idaho, on Thursday March 5. Evelyn was born on Dec. 11, 1929, to Art and Ernestine Anschutz in Union County, New Mexico. Her family moved to Tulia, Texas, until she was four years old, and then moved back to the Rocky Mountains in New Mexico. She had fun with her family going to neighborhood dances that lasted until dawn. They didn’t have a lot, but they enjoyed life.

Pend Oreille, Priest Lake drawdown dates set
Officials have announced that Lake Pend Oreille is beginning its annual fall drawdown on Sept. 19 this year. The lake is generally held at a normal pool of 2,062.5 until the third Sunday in September or Sept. 18, whichever is later.
Northwest Montana Fair kicks off next week in Kalispell
The 2023 Northwest Montana Fair & Rodeo is scheduled for Aug. 16-20 at the Flathead County Fairgrounds in Kalispell and will feature a performance by country star Russell Dickerson, three nights of PRCA Rodeo action and a Big Air Bash.
Man injured in bear attack near Hungry Horse Reservoir
A man was reportedly injured in a bear attack in the Twin Creek area along the east side of the Hungry Horse Reservoir this weekend.
Teens crammed in car sent home
According to Kalispell Police Department call logs, eight juveniles were reportedly crammed into a vehicle with one girl was sitting on the floorboard unrestrained. The driver reportedly had a restricted driver’s license and wasn’t sure how to put fuel in the vehicle. The parents of all the juveniles were contacted and the children were picked up.

Health officials late last week expanded a health advisory related to a multi-state E. coli outbreak, now stating that consumers should throw out all types of romaine lettuce sourced from Yuma, Arizona.
Theresa C. Schneider, 80
Theresa C. Schneider, 80, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, Aug. 18, 2019 in Libby. She was born on Janu. 14, 1939 in Baker. She was raised on her family ranch by her parents Theodore and Barbara Bruha. She was the youngest of seven children. Theresa road horseback 6 1/2 miles to a one-room school house growing up. She attended high school in Baker and graduated in 1957.
