Injectors, car show booths deserved credit
I saw the picture on the front page of the newspaper (Sept. 13) of kids building items at The Home Depot booth. It would have been nice if the paper could have given a little more coverage to the photo. The Home Depot had more than 200 kids build items under their supervision. The whole concept of the booths was to introduce industrial arts to our youth and those looking for a career change. The Busy Beaver and Spartan Arc & Panel closed their shops for the day to introduce to the public information about their trade. To our knowledge (the Injectors), no other car show has ever done anything like this. It was promoted as “Education Alley.”

I was there when the Bonner County commissioners voted down Clarity on the Scotchman Peaks ballot proposal (2-1 with Dan McDonald the dissenting vote). Sure it is their responsibility to ensure questions on the ballot are clear and unbiased — but, I guess that doesn’t matter. Many spoke out in favor of adding “federal” in front of wilderness, to help citizens understand that this is a federal takeover, which it is. Steven Bradshaw was also there and to his credit, he asked for truth and clarity, reminding the commissioners of their responsibility. By the way, Steven is running for commissioner in District 1. His integrity and common sense are evident.

JUDGES: Tougher is better
Well, I guess we have a bleeding heart judge on the bench. I quit law enforcement serving only 10 years because of bleeding heart judges. I felt like I was wasting my time arresting criminals, only to have them get probation or credit for time served, then released.

CONSUMER: Further warnings
Thanks to Bill Brooks for a good article on popups. But I found an added danger spot. My husband is prone to viruses. He recently was denied access to his yahoo account. So I googled a yahoo mail expert. The third one listed as a yahoo mail expert I clicked on. Should have realized what the small print read: “3rd party microsoft expert.” He was a scammer. So the source of the trojan horse doesn’t need to be a pop-up.
