First half of property taxes due Dec. 20 in Boundary County
Boundary County Treasurer Jennifer Economu is reminding property owners that the deadline to pay the first half of 2025 property taxes without penalty is Saturday, Dec. 20. Because the due date falls on a Saturday, payments will be accepted as on time through Monday, Dec. 22.

A candle started a fire Saturday afternoon on a kitchen counter in an unoccupied home on Middle Road, the Flathead County Sheriff's Office said. Deputy Sam Cox arrived before the Creston Fire Department did, kicked down two doors to get into the kitchen and put out the fire with water.
