Some people at ShopKo took overreacting to a theatrical degree Tuesday, according to the Flathead County Sheriff's Office. They reportedly yelled at a woman who cut in front of someone in line. When she left the store, they swore and told her they were going to slit her boyfriend's throat and eat his heart.
The Flathead County Sheriff's Office walked on the wild side a little Wednesday:
Callers' topics included a bear or two that reportedly chased a girl in Marion, and a moose that died in a collision with a vehicle near McGregor Lake. A deer also got the rough end of an encounter with a vehicle.
A 9-year-old boy
slipped out of school Tuesday in what East Evergreen administrators think was a "planned escape." The school contacted the Flathead County Sheriff's Office, which reported that a deputy had noticed the boy on Harmony Road even before the call was dispatched. The boy was returned to the school.

I was disappointed in your article “Out of Eden” on Sept. 8 about the Garden of Eden thrift store. I understand the Christophersons’ frustration and I admire their dedication to our community. However, they are not being displaced by a liquor store; they are being displaced by a long-standing local business whose owners are also dedicated to improving our community and are willing to take a risk in purchasing the space.
