Moses Lake concert series starts Friday

MOSES LAKE — The City of Moses Lake Creative District Free Summer Concert Series starts this Friday at 8 p.m. at McCosh Park. The first concert in the series of six live music shows is The Wenatchee Big Band.
The Wenatchee Big Band has been performing for more than 25 years and plays music from the last five decades. The group is made up of Central Washington musicians who share a love of big band music. They perform at a variety of area venues regularly, including local festivals and wineries.
Additional shows include Santa Poco on June 28 at 8 p.m. and the 133D Army National Guard Band on Wednesday, July 3 at 7 p.m.

Level 3 evacuation area extended for Railroad Fire
MATTAWA — The area of Level 3 evacuations prompted by the Railroad Fire north of Mattawa has been extended to the area of lower Crab Creek. The Grant County Sheriff's Office issued a Level 3 notice about 8 a.m. Friday for the area about seven miles from SR 243. Level 3 means people in the affected areas should leave immediately. The GCSO issued a Level 2 notice for the area from Jericho to Smyrna at about 8:40 a.m. Friday. A Level 2 notice means residents should be ready to evacuate and monitor emergency information.
New Jitterz Sit & Sip Cafe opens in Rathdrum
There’s more than just drive-through coffee stands brewing for Jitterz Espresso. Jitterz, which was established in 2006 by owners Laura and Jason Quast and currently has 11 coffee stands around Kootenai County, can now say it has its first ever sit-down cafe in the region.
