Noxon girls basketball coach Cory Brodmerkle gives her young Lady Red Devils goals before each game, and her team keeps meeting or exceeding those goals.
The Lady Devils lost but learned twice in home games at Noxon last week, 58-24 to St. Regis Friday and 60-20 to Troy Saturday.
Brodmerkle says she is proud of the strides her team has made this season already. “With each game they are showing great improvement,” she said. “They keep accomplishing the goals we set before each game and they keep exceeding my expectations.”
Against St. Regis, Abigail Yoder led the Lady Devils with 10 points, seven rebounds, four assists and five steals, Sandy Bonney scored five points, Emily Yoder four points with four rebounds, Nevaeh Christensen three points and four steals and Brielle MacArthur two points.
In the game against Troy, Abigail Yoder again led Noxon with 11 points, two assists, nine rebounds and two steals, Emily Yoder added four points and six rebounds, Georgia Rose and Christensen two each and Bonney and MacArthur one apiece.
The next scheduled game for Noxon is at Hot Springs Jan. 2.
