Finishing the season with a fine run of play at tournament time, the Superior Bobcats completed the 2025 season competing at the Western C divisional tournament in Churchill last week.
Coach Emily Verbanac’s Bobcats had earned their spot in the Western C by rallying to a strong third place finish at the District 14C tournament in Charlo the previous week.
In Churchill, the Twin Bridges Falcons downed the Bobcats in three sets Thursday and the Seeley-Swan Blackhawks defeated Superior in three sets Friday.
Manhattan Christian won the Western C title, Gardiner finished second and Twin Bridges third in Churchill. Manhattan Christian and Gardiner move on to this week’s State C portion of the Montana All-Class tournament in Bozeman.
Verbanac was happy with, and happy for her girls in the end. “They sure did amazing, came to play,” she said after the district tourney in Charlo. “I'm proud of the growth as a team and each individual since day one of the season.”
Seniors Koltlynn Kelsey, Maggie Haworth, Perri Jasper, Maryisa Swope, Lane Digiando, Makenzie Reum, Riley Tweed, Melissa Rhodes and Kynzie Pierce, juniors Josie Crabb, Lyla Beaudoin and Natalee Steinebach, sophomores Ava White, Mikeolani Rutheford and Kaydi Erickson, freshmen Lily Jasper, Alyza Wickham, Gia Beaudoin, Mamryn Church, Nichole Shope and Madyson Neu, and eighth grader Emma Erickson were the roster members for the 2025 Lady Bobcats volleyball team.
Verbanac was upbeat after her first year as the Superior head coach.
“They played strong and as a team all season and I’m proud to have had them as my first team as a coach,” she said.
