Polson girls tennis gets tight win over Dillon

Another week of tennis was disrupted by the weather but schools around Lake County still managed to shine on the courts.
Dillon Boys Tennis 4, Polson Boys Tennis 3
Starting the day on April 10, Zach Sandall of Dillon beat out Ruger Ellis 6-3 and 6-3. Marcus Lucas got a win back for Polson over Zach Maki 6-2, 5-7 and 10-9. Declan Oswald retook the advantage with a win over Cash Brown 6-0 and 6-1. Elijah Gardner of Dillon finished up with a win over Aristo Cannon 8-7 and 7-5.
In doubles, Carson Fluckinger and Ben Lund beat out Polson’s Strider Gage and Zayne Newman 6-4, 4-6 and 10-5. Maddox Bird and Jaidon Minhkuk beat out Dillon’s Drew Morganthaler and Eli Crites 6-3 and 6-3. Brody Kune and Evan Tolley couldn’t get the team victory but wrapped up Polson’s day with a win over Chase Reasaner and James Seidensticker, 8-3.

Onto the girls: Gabby Thomas of Dillon beat out Karly Smith 5-7, 6-2 and 10-8. Dillon’s Shannon Martin took down Baylee Lemm 6-1, 6-7 and 10-8. Lindy Dupuis got Polson back on the winning track against Evelyn Tolman 6-4 and 6-2. Embree Bird equalized it for Polson with a win over Kynsey Morrisroe 6-0 and 6-2.
Sam Steadman and Skylar Lapierre got the doubles started with a win over Polson’s Hinkley Moss and Greta Lund 3-6, 6-4 and 11-9. Zoe Schroeder and JoHanna Bieber of Polson continued winning against Amelia Maki and Raigan Wright 6-1 and 6-1. Cleo Martin and Evan Kline wrapped up the Polson girls’ team win against Lily Malesich and Elli Scheffel, 8-0.
Columbia Falls Boys Tennis 7, Ronan Boys Tennis 0
Now it’s time for Ronan, who struggled a bit in their matches against Columbia Falls last Friday. First, Perles of Columbia Falls beat out Rowan Parks 6-1 and 6-2. Columbia Falls’ Masters won via forfeit. Harris beat out Ronan’s Hayden Fussell 6-2 and 6-4. Love wrapped up the wins for Columbia Falls against Kaden Buck 6-1 and 5-2.
Columbia Falls continued to win as Perry and Combs beat out Mason Parks and Matiya Nenemay 6-3 and 6-4. Oberholtzer and Scholz won due to a forfeit for Columbia Falls, with Bowler and Plevel doing the same.
Columbia Falls Girls Tennis 7, Ronan Girls Tennis 0
Columbia Falls took another decisive team win against the girls with Windauer, Heppner, Bryant and LaCasse all winning due to forfeit.
After those singles forfeits, Petersen and Yerian of Columbia Falls won against Hosanna Wilson and Emily Skare 6-0 and 6-0. Scholz and Dunham beat out Ronan’s Addi Shallock and Olivia Willer 6-2 and 6-0. Perry and Tamburelli took the shutout with a final win over Ronan’s April Unrich and Brinley Shallock, 6-1 and 6-0.

Lake County softball teams notch quality wins
Polson and Ronan had a loaded weekend full of tournament softball down in Frenchtown. With a tournament slate and a busy week for Mission/Arlee/Charlo as well, each team needed their best performances to come out on top this week.
Baseball teams post mixed results in conference contests
With baseball heating up, every Lake County squad is eager for every victory they can get. It was a week that saw some serious wins and also some heartbreaking losses. All three local teams got to the diamond to showcase what they can do in this baseball-heavy weekend.
Packed track and field weekend sees major Lake County success
It was another packed week in track and field as schools from across Lake County sent teams to a prestigious meet down in Missoula. These athletes competed in a week where they took on some of the best teams in western Montana across all classes. Luckily, many of those athletes shone.
