A woman is facing a felony charge after police said she hit two vehicles, injuring multiple people, and fled the scene.
Officers with the Coeur d'Alene Police Department responded around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday to a reported hit-and-run crash at the Exxon gas station on Fourth Street.
The driver, identified by police as 62-year-old Coeur d'Alene resident Julie A. Clock, allegedly hit a vehicle in the parking lot before backing onto Fourth Street "at a high rate of speed" and hitting a second vehicle. Both vehicles sustained "significant damage," according to police, and at least two people sustained injuries.
Police said Clock fled south on Third Street. Witnesses followed her to a residence in the 800 block of North 11th Street and reported her location to police, according to a news release.
When police responded to the home, Clock allegedly barricaded herself inside. She surrendered after speaking with officers by phone, according to police.
Police arrested Clock at the residence and booked her into jail on a felony charge of leaving the scene of an accident.
The people injured in the crashes were transported to Kootenai Health for treatment, according to the Coeur d'Alene Police Department.
