Bobcats take it out on Panthers
JOHN HAMILTON | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 2 months, 3 weeks AGO
Tired of practicing and facing off with each other over the break, the Superior Bobcats took their latent holiday aggressions out on Mineral County foe Alberton Saturday in Superior, sending the Panthers home on the short end of a 63-31 score.
“It was a long break, it gets old playing against each other all the time,” Superior coach Jake McElroy said. “Alberton was a good team win for us, we got everybody lots of playing time, handled business all right.”
Now 4-2 overall and 2-0 in District 14C play, the Bobcats play Plains in Hot Springs Tuesday in a makeup game created by the Hot Springs’ boys’ cancellation of their season, and then play at Troy Friday and at Pablo Saturday versus Two Eagle River.
“This is a big week for us with some competitive games,” McElroy said. “I’m excited and the boys are excited, we are looking forward to it.”
Gannon Quinlan paced Superior in the win over Alberton with 19 points, Henry Hanson added 12, Phin Cataldo 11, Landon Richards seven, Logan Merrill four and Noble Brockway two.
Devin Hill led Alberton with 11 points. “Alberton has some promising players,” McElroy said. “They played well against us.
