Be wary of the Noxon boys when they are playing in the Devils’ den, ask the Superior Bobcats about that.

Coach Trever Kayser’s dangerous Devils took down the Superior Bobcats 46-40 Friday in the West End, using 22 points from Trever’s senior son Justice Kayser and nine more from Shane Hatchel to key the big win, Noxon’s first of the season.

In other action last week, the Devils went to Pablo Thursday and lost 90-51 to the high-flying Two Eagle River Eagles.

Now 1-3 in 14C play and 1-6 overall, the Red Devils play a non-conference game in Thompson Falls Tuesday before returning to 14C action at St. Regis Friday.

The Red Devils managed to get past Superior in spite of the fact that they had only six players available Friday. Then freshman Kinley Dennis hurt his knee and the Devils were temporarily down to only five players.

“We were spread pretty thin there for awhile, but it’s sure nice to get the win,” coach Kayser said. “We hope to get a few kids back this week and are also looking at getting a few other players enough practices in to use them as well.”

Backing up Justice Kayser and Hatchel against Superior, Guthrie Kayser (Trever’s younger son) contributed 11 big points to the winning effort, Dennis three and Fletcher Segura one.

Please see other story for Superior scoring.

Against Two Eagle River, Hatchel led Noxon with 19 points, Justice Kayser and Segura added 10 apiece, Guthrie Kayser eight and Zane Brown two.

Jayvian Burke and Thomas Addison scored 30 points apiece for Two Eagle and Kayson Gates added 10.
