Ray leads but Lady Panthers fall

The Alberton Lady Panthers, in spite of junior Arya Ray’s 13 points, fell 62-20 to Two Eagle River in District 14C action at Alberton Saturday.

Coach Cera Bestwick said poor shooting hurt the Panthers against the Eagles, and that she was impressed with the efforts of her young squad in spite of the score throughout the game.

Bestwick said the Lady Panthers have three games on tap this week, playing at St. Regis Tuesday before hosting Superior Friday and Victor Saturday.

The games with Mineral County rivals St. Regis and Superior are District 14C conference contests while the game with Victor is non-conference.
