Discount Tires, one of the nation’s largest tire retailers, opened its first Post Falls shop Monday at 154 S. Metts Way, next to Wendy’s. 

The company sells leading tire brands, including Michelin, Nitto, Goodyear, Bridgestone, BFGoodrich and Cooper. It also offers popular wheels like Fuel, MB, American Outlaw, Liquid Metal and Black Rhino.

“I’m excited to be here serving members of this community,” manager Del Swan said. “I’ve been with the company for 31 years. I started in Spokane, worked in Eugene, Seattle and then ran the store in Spokane Valley for the past 14 years.” 

The shop has four state-of-the-art service bays and a large parking lot that accommodates vehicles of all types and sizes.

“We’re initially performing tire and wheel maintenance and wiper inspection and replacement,” Swan said. “We will be offering wheel alignment service in the near future.” 

The waiting room is equipped with cell phone charging ports and a TV screen so you can watch tire technicians work on your vehicle. 

“The kids just love it,” Swan said. 

Kerry O'Malley Gleim with the Discount Tire Public Relations Department said the timing was right to add the company's newest location in North Idaho.

"Discount Tire saw an opportunity to help drivers in Post Falls," O'Malley Gleim said. 

Swan said the store's location is ideal. 

“It’s great — it’s just off the Beck Road exit on I-90 and in a developing area, near other retail outlets and fast-food businesses,” Swan said. 

Bruce T. Halle founded Discount Tire in 1960. Today, it serves customers in 1,250 stores across 40 states. 

The hours of operation at the Post Falls location are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The store is closed Sunday.
