A man who sexually abused two children will spend decades in prison.
Jeremiah D. Kamp, 31, pleaded guilty in October of last year to two counts of sexual abuse of a child under the age of 16, both felonies punishable by up to 25 years in prison.
First District Judge Regina McCrea sentenced Kamp last week to 40 years in prison with parole eligibility after 20 years.
According to the Kootenai County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Kamp sexually abused two children, aged 11 and 13, between 2024 and 2025.
Kamp had previous convictions for petit theft, driving without privileges and injury to a child. Prosecutors said he was on probation for burglary and possession of a controlled substance during the period when he abused the children.
In February, First District Judge Ross Pittman found Kamp to be in violation of the terms of his probation. Pittman revoked Kamp’s probation and imposed an eight-year sentence for burglary, as well as a seven-year sentence for possession of a controlled substance.
During last week’s sentencing, McCrea ordered that Kamp’s 40-year sentence run consecutively to his other sentences.
