Please join me in supporting Jon Lane for Moses Lake City Council. My family first got to know Jon when he was the principal at Warden Middle School. Jon took a challenging position and helped establish a successful middle school program in a new building. Jon was very involved in the community and we were sad when he moved back to Moses Lake. We have continued to follow Jon and his success with the Moses Lake schools and with the Moses Lake City Council.

Lois Katherine Nelson, 61, passed from this Earth into the arms of Heaven on March 23, 2019. She fought a valiant battle with ALS and died in the comfort of her home with her children at her side.

QUIET!: Libraries no place for phones

I am writing to you in regard to a growing community concern that is quickly building into a gnawing-at-the-nerves discomfort. You see, I spend a lot of time at the public libraries in our community, and while I am there at different times on various days, I unfortunately have been forced to listen in on numerous conversations that involve entirely too much personal information - not to mention profanity, obscenities and disturbingly emotional tirades.

CHARITY: Bad lurking in good

Several churches and charities have free meals for the community and the homeless, but some take a real bad hand on all this. These churches and charities provide free clothes for these people in need, but some of these low life, high-roller people grab up most of the good or newer clothes and take them to consignment places to sell, leaving the people who really needed them without.
