Moses Lake’s Richardson signs to play for Walla Walla CC
MOSES LAKE – Family, friends, teammates and coaches gathered at the Moses Lake High School commons on Tuesday afternoon to celebrate senior Paige Richardson signing to play softball for Walla Walla Community College. “It’s really exciting; it feels real now, now that all that’s done,” Richardson said. “Overwhelming, but exciting.” Richardson has been a three-year starter for the Maverick fastpitch softball team, earning numerous accolades from the Columbia Basin Big 9. In the 2024 season, Richardson was the Big 9’s Most Valuable Player and a unanimous first-team pitcher.

MLCA/CCS’s Wiser takes the podium at state track
MOSES LAKE — While MLCA/CCS’s Rebecca Wiser hasn’t reached high school yet, the Lion eighth grader has already started to leave her mark on the track. Wiser took fourth in the 3,200-meter run at last month’s 1B State Track and Field Championships in Yakima, completing the event with a personal-best time of 12:32.06 minutes.

AUBURN - After a tough start to their run in the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges (NWAACC) Crossover Tournament at Green River Community College, the Big Bend Lady Vikings found their groove in the nick of time.

Hobson and Summer Makinster both homered in the second game for NIC, which hosts Yakima Valley at Memorial Field on Tuesday starting at 3 p.m.

CC Spokane claims victory in Cardinal-Bigfoot Shootout
POST FALLS - Community Colleges of Spokane won 42 of a possible 71 holes Saturday to claim the Cardinal-Bigfoot Shootout over North Idaho College at The Links Golf Club. The teams were playing a match play format, with scores tallied from an individual win on each hole. Spokane finished with a 71-52 win in the two-day tournament.
